Forge Running
Now I find that lots of people are complaining about forge runnings and what not, but I decided to make a thread COMPLIMENTING the people that got ran to the forge. There is nothing wrong with getting run to the forge. I, myself, had gotten run to the forge, for a mer 5K gold. I was interested in one thing and one thing only. Getting better armor. And the forge was the best place to currently get that. So i paid my money, like everyone else, and at lvl 8 I was at the forge. I bought my armor and was on my merry way. I do not intend this thread to be an all out flame-fest. I made it simply because I don't care how many hours you put into your character, forge runnings will not stop.

I agree, 5K was a bit much, but I was willing to pay that for a garenteed forge run

A month and a half ago, I woulda said forge running is kinda like cheating. But after having gone through the game 4 times already, I just wanted to be able to venture wherever I wanted, so I took a forge run. Granted, I'm not going back to noobie arenas just to "pwn," I just wanted to speed things up a little going through the same content a 5th time.

I don't know... personally I like getting there myself, leaving a bloody trail behind me. More satisfying.

at lvl 12 i'm not really all that bloody trail enabled.
but yes bloody trails are nice....especially when you are a necro /evilgrin
I am not totally supportive of the forge running thing... personally i encourage everyone i can find to work on a donations basis (i give em the going rate anyway).

A guildy got me to Forge, I just wanted the armor. I could care less about Ascalon Arena...
Another reason was that for a GvG build I need Draw Conditions and Aftershock, which are in the Southern Shivs. Why wait to ascend?

Within the next week, i expect i will be getting 4 runs done for me. I am buying another copy of the game tomorrow (especially if sorrows furnace comes tonight and has other features not mentioned).
I do'nt want to keep my main characters for storage while i miss out on the "better drops".

Gaile did say that Sorrow's Furnace will definitely not be tonight, but soon. FYI.

If there is going to be a new outpost for Sorrow's Furnace / Grenth's Footprint...guess how long before there will be runners shouting in Droknar or Beacon charging for runs? :P

been run for free twice, both times by a guild leader. He was running other people who had to pay though heh. Was increadible to watch and I know even if I completely finished the game before moving on to another character, I'd never be that gifted. My guild leader who can do this is a god.
Now I hate grouping with people and love having good armor and don't want to waste my time farming for materials for lower lv armor so I got run to droknar. First character was at sanctum cay before getting run, lv18. My other was at lv9 and as far as piken... Oh... flame me for that why don't you. *stands bold and proud* am I losing out on the game? Nope. Just sparing myself the bordom of doing the same thing over and over again. Besides it was fun to see how long I could run before dying to the hords of unforgiving villians while the warrior charged on ahead.

I enjoy watching the runners, usually if there are two runners I'll offer a nice amount of gold to whoever gets there first just to make it interesting.

While I think running defeats a great deal of the fun in the game, and I don't believe in people getting paid to run (why not do it for free/for fun/just to help people not as advanced as yourself?), if it's possible to do in the game, and it doesn't violate the terms of use, and there are people willing to pay to get run (or get ripped off, as the case is too often) instead of getting to Droknar's or wherever the 'old fashioned way', then so be it.
As for me, I often help people do missions/bonuses/quests just because I can help people do them. While I could charge someone to help them complete, for example, the desert missions and quests, I just like to help people, and I *know* there are plenty of people just like me out there. So, before paying to be run to a location, I recommend you consider doing it the old fashioned way with people who can help you leave that trail of blood along the way...

I do a daily free run to droknar, but i charge for it normally
I have things i wanna buy/save for and this is my money niche. I enjoy it, and people enjoy my services, its a win win situation that i cant pass up
